President’s Message – January 2013

The new year is a time for resolutions and goals. Here at NHCRA we begin the new year with the resolution to reach out in educating the public and offering access to all forms of alternative dispute resolution. As the court system in NH continues to struggle with budget cuts and scheduling, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution are becoming increasingly necessary to serve the people of NH.

The Board of NHCRA is excited to “roll out” our new website. The website offers a means to educate the public on various forms of dispute resolution and connect them with the professionals best able to serve those needs. Members of NHCRA are now able to list their practice and areas of expertise to assist the public.

One of our many goals for 2013 is to give our membership the tools to help meet the needs of this growing profession. The need and desire of our membership to connect with others in the profession was evident by the successful turnout at the “Meet and Greet” hosted by NHCRA in November. In 2013, NHCRA will begin hosting “brown bag” lunches at the various court houses. This will help us keep connected to the courts and each other in offering an alternative to the litigation process.

NHCRA continues to offer workshops, keeping our membership up to date with the changes in the profession and in perfecting our skills. Check our calendar for upcoming workshops, brown bag lunches and meetings. We appreciate your input and participation in offering new ideas for future workshops and programs.

We at NHCRA look forward to seeing you at these upcoming events and serving you in 2013. We hope one of your resolutions for the new year is to be involved in the growing and expanding field of dispute resolution.
